Adventuresome presents this comprehensive guide on how to reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls. However, since it is in a remote area reaching it requires planning. No matter where you travel from, the journey needs to be broken down into smaller legs.
The nearest railway station from Dudhsagar falls is Kulem. On reaching Kulem, you can either opt to reach Dudhsagar via the scenic trek which is about 11 kilometres and takes around 5–6 hours for a person to complete, or hire a jeep to reach the peak. The jeep will usually drop you off at a point 1 km from the top. The jeep is a convenient option as it costs only a thousand rupees for around a group of six people.
The below options explain how to reach Kulem via train from different cities in south India and also explore the options to reach Dudhsagar via road.
1. How to reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls from Goa
The easiest way to reach Dudhsagar from Goa is to take a train from Vasco Da Gama to Kulem. There are multiple trains from Goa to Kulem almost every day of the week which take only an hour to reach Kulem. Some of the trains are,
Vasco Da Gama Velankanni Express — 17315
Vasco Da Gama Howrah Express — 18048
Velankanni Exp — 07315
Alternate Option (via road)
You can also choose to reach Dudhsagar from Goa via road. You can either hire a car and let google Maps guide you through the way via NH748 to Kulem or Castle Rock, or use public transport to reach Mollem.
To reach Dudhsagar via public transport one can either take a bus to Mollem from Calangute (takes around 1.5 hours) or from Panjim (takes around 1.5 hours). From Mollem you will find shared transports to Kulem which take around 45 minutes. This is how you reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls from Goa.
Remember that two wheeler aren’t allowed on the roads near Dudhsagar, so in case you are hiring your own vehicle, it should preferably be a four wheeler.
2. How to reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls from Bangalore (Or any other city in South Karnataka)

The weekly train, 17311 — Vasco Da Gama runs every Friday from Yeshwantpur railway station and takes around 13 hours to reach Kulem.
Alternate Option (via Goa):
In case you don’t want to go on a Friday or don’t want to take a train to Kulem, you can also choose to take a flight/train to Goa which are easily available from Bangalore and then follow the route explained in the above section (How to reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls from Goa).
3. Reaching from Mumbai
The cheapest and optimal way to reach Dudhsagar from Mumbai is to take a bus to Mollem which is a 13 hour drive. From Mollem you will find shared transports to Kulem which take around 45 minutes.
Alternate Option 1 (via Goa):
A real time saving way to reach Dudhsagar from Mumbai is to take a flight to Goa and then continue the journey from there.
Alternate Option 2 (via train)
This route requires two train journeys. You can take a train from Mumbai to Madgaon which is about a 12 hour long journey and then take a train from Madgaon to Dudhsagar which is another one and a half hour long journey.

You can either take a taxi from Madgaon to Mollem and then go to Dudhsagar or take the following train to Dudhsagar
Goa Express towards Hazrat Nizamuddin — 12779

4. Reaching from Delhi
The best way to reach Dudhsagar from Delhi is via Goa. Also I suggest taking a trip to Dudhsagar as an extended trip from Goa as a standalone trip to Dudhsagar from Delhi might not be the most cost efficient way.
A round trip flight from Delhi to Goa will cost around 6k and are available almost daily.
You can also prefer to take a train to Madgaon which is cheaper if you don’t consider time a luxury. Trains typically take a day and a half from Delhi to Madgaon.

5. How to reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls from Pune
Going to Dudhsagar is a trip you need to plan! There are multiple options and you can choose whatever feels right to you.
Option 1 (via Goa — Karmali, of course!)
You can take an overnight train which takes around 15 hours to Karmali and then reach Dudhsagar via car/train.
To reach by train you will have to go to Panaji and board the 12779 — Goa Express (towards Hazrat Nizamuddin). Dudhsagar is only 63 kms from Karmali. You can also rent a car and drive to Dudhsagar which will take around 2 hours and would be a beautiful road trip!
Option 2 (via Belgaum)
You can take a train to Belgaum from Pune and then reach Dudhsagar via Belgaum. Some of the trains to Belgaum are:
Sharavati Express — 11035
Jodhpur — KSR Bengaluru Express (via Davanagere) — 16507
Since, Belgaum is only 124 kms away from Pune, you can also choose to take a bus or rent a car to Belgaum.
Again, Dudhsagar is around 125 kms from Belgaum, so it’s up to you to either take a bus/rent a car or take a train and go full Chaiyya Chaiyya on yourself (I tried to be funny!)

Goa Express towards Vasco-da-Gama — 12780
Miraj — Hubballi Express towards Hubballi Junction — 11047 → Londa Junction → Goa Express towards Vasco-da-Gama — 12780
Option 3 (via Mumbai)
You can also reach Dudhsagar via Mumbai. The options to reach Mumbai from Pune are endless. Mumbai is only 150 kms away from Pune, so you can take a bus, car or a train. The journey will only take around 3 hours either way.

6. How to reach Dudhsagar Waterfalls from Hyderabad
The optimal way to reach Dudhsagar from Hyderabad is to catch a train from Kacheguda to Londa junction. The average travel time is around 13 hours. Few trains from Kacheguda to Londa are:
Hyderabad — Vasco-Da-Gama weekly Express — 17021
Manuguru — SCSMT Kolhapur Express — 11303
Dudhsagar is about 70 kms from Londa, so you can rent a car to travel to Dudhsagar or board the Goa Express (towards Vasco-da-Gama)
